Avios points can be earned directly on qualifying hotel stays through BAEC’s network of hotel partners. However, there are many other ways to reap reward out of your hotel loyalty. As each chain has its own reward programme, and they do differ significantly from programme to programme, it is worth investigating the pros and cons before handing over your BAEC card at check in. It is worth remembering points earned as a member of a hotel programme can in many cases be transferred to the BAEC, and for the last 3-4 years BA has promoted such transfers with an annual 25% bonus.

Generally, taking the Avios will normally be a sub-optimal use of the hotel programme's potential although it may still be a useful option to some, particularly those who have a healthy network of friends and family spread across the globe, and only need to book hotel accommodation a few times per annum.


01 Accor Hotels
