I would expect the eStore to be well dead and buried by then so not much hope of chasing the miles if they don't come through.

I've noticed that, but two of my recent 3 stays (none of which meet that criteria) are shown up and currently are pending.

So it's worth a try to go through the e-store for a few extra miles as it doesn't impact earning through the other schemes.
