97, 98 and 99 are all GGL.

97 means you are GGL because of your personal flying.

98 means you are GGL because you are responsible for a large company spend.

99 means you are both of the above.

I don't think buying an upgrade will affect your CIV.

The IPad does not show if you have purchased an upgrade. It shows if you were upgraded for operational reasons but if you upgraded yourself online or at checkin, it does not show on either the IPad or the Passenger information sheet.
