I thought the SkyTeam RTW planner just helps with paid itineraries. Though you can book a RTW award trip, I think you'll have to do search for availability segment by segment. I have played around with it a bit, but I run into errors frequently due to invalid routing/destinations/etc and it doesn't do a good job of telling you why it's illegal.

Also rules for revenue RTW and Award RTW vary, so a valid RTW on the SkyTeam planner might not be valid for an award booking.
