That was not a reward night, but a prepaid rate night, but it does indicate this can be the case.

If you are worried call the hotel and confirm the details, possibly ask for email confirmation.
Ditto - I mistakenly (Blame the red wine int he CP Gatwick lounge) cancelled a two night AP booking, called the following morning and explained, hotel reinstated, gave me 'new' res details, I said was the same confirmation number, she swore it wasn't, I asked her to compare and she agreed actually it was (but 'this shouldn't be possible')

Anyway, got confirmation by email (she sent screenshot of my booking on their system) and was no problem when I booked in.) I did have to chase PC to stay to post but always have had to at this property - they seem to be one of the ones who lose the last number of PC numbers...
