Hey Spidey,
Ok, I'm new to this, as I only just recently started to use the CIBC Aerogold Visa card, as part of the ongoing (still) 15K bonus miles promotion.
So, I checked my 2 Visa statements received, and I see the transactions which have the airplane symbol next to them, which
"Identifies Mileage Multiplier transactions that have earned 1.5 Aeroplan Miles for every dollar spent (a Bonus of 50% more)."
Unfortunately, they don't show a total for these transactions on the Visa statemen, but by my calculations, the miles I should have been awarded and the miles actually credited were: 39 vs 38 (-1) and 23 vs 26 (+3).
So, in one case they short changed me by 1 mile, and gave me 3 extra the next month. I don't know how they crank out the numbers to be different than what I expected, but it looks 'almost' right...at least in the same ball park.
Still, I wish it was more consistent...and so yeah, thanks for the heads-up to monitor the points, in case I do decide to use this card for more/bigger purchases.
Keep on Swinging!
