I'm sure I'm not the first to say it :-)

So, after my taxi driver in Northem Ghana nicked my clapped out ipod and headphones a few weeks ago, I wanted to get some new, decent headphones. Following Henkybaby's continued evangelism of Etymotic headphones I thought "let's give them a go". Click click Amazon, click click ba.com, and I've just arrived in cool, sunny Kampala after enjoying the tender mercies of WT+ overnight (great crew, decent food, functioning IFE after a few initial hiccups - what more could you ask?).

And OH MY GOD. They're amazing. First time ever I've been able to listen to a film at a sensible volume onboard and hear everything on the soundtrack, and then unplug them and sleep with engine noise reduced to a mere whisper. Much better experience than any airline or self-supplied noise cancelling headphones etc (though I imagine they aren't for everyone, what with the in-ear fitting). Can't imagine flying without them ever again!

So if you ever make it up from sultry southern Toulouse to sunny Strasbourg Henkybaby, I owe you a large Choucroute and a bottle of finest Alsatian Pinot Gris!
