Interesting. I've never used Goof-Off, but having a look at their website it seems they use at least two different formulations, one water-based and one with acetone (which I suspect you have). From their FAQ;
Can I use Goof Off Professional on my microwave to remove sticker residue?
Use Goof Off Heavy Duty instead.. It is safe on most plastics and finished surfaces.
