I'm sure those who are over the 6000 TP threshold are not too concerned about maintaining (or earning) status with another airline. Status is simply a by-product of the travelling rather than a goal in itself.
I'm sure you're right.
I know a couple of people who fly regularly on business and they aren't all that clued up on the benefits of having status and don't really care that much to be honest. They're far too busy concentrating on the main purpose of why they're travelling in the first place.....work.
