Since that time, you now have The Peninsula, Shangri La, Mandarin Oriental, Ritz-Carlton, The Conrad, and the new Tokyo Palace Hotel to add to this list, most of them being newer than their HK counterparts. Even the new Tokyo Station Hotel opening on October 3rd might be a contender.

(Seiyo Ginza, on the other hand, will close in less than a year...)
