I would say being able to enjoy the perks and benefits of the programme when you travel!

Yes! But that's a purely selfish response. It does sadden me when I log in to my BAEC account and get reminded that I have now earned all that I am going to earn. Looking at my current bookings I have a little over 1500 TPs to earn before my year resets in August ... but as TPs go they are valueless.

It would be nice to see additional Gold Upgrade for Two and GGL Redemption benefits every 500/1000 TPs or thereabouts (although that might sound a little greedy )

I'm sure those who are over the 6000 TP threshold are not too concerned about maintaining (or earning) status with another airline. Status is simply a by-product of the travelling rather than a goal in itself.

When I travel I check BA first (or AA in the US) and then oneworld because of the status I have, however if there is a better flight schedule for my itinerary I have no difficulty in choosing another carrier. This is especially the case for European flights as my local airport is MAN (I am top tier with EY and EK for travel through the Middle East and BKK for example).
