The issue is that the CCs have some (arguable strange/bogus) rules that in fraud situations there is a differnce between "card presented" and "card not presented". So by seeing the CC the airline reduces their liability.

Maybe they (BR and others) are being somewhat anal in taking it to the extreme, but they do and us pax must expect it.

No issue for you though, BR was paid by the TA, not by your CC. So they could care less if your CC was good.

All you have to do is scan a copy of your credit card with your ID on the same page and write a short letter detailing that you have given your friend the ability to use your card for their booking. Sign the paper and let your friend use it in the airport.
