Speaking of descriptions like that, how do you / can you make an LNF work when the Marriott site says the room can be either 1 or 2 beds, but the comparison site is specific as to bed type? (I've run into this "1 king or 2 double" description before at other hotels where I was considering an LNF.)

Some comparison sites "buy up" room inventory ahead of time, and thus will show room types that are no longer available on mariott.com. So just because only one room type is still left at marriott.com and only one room type shows on the comparioson site, it does not automatically mean that they are the same room.

Of course, when the comparison site always has completely messed up room descriptions (none of them matching what the hotel actually has!), then what do you do (LNF-wise)? (One LNF site I've used for one hotel, for that hotel it has 3 room types, but only one of those room types, luckily the chpeast, the king suite, actually matches any hotel room type description on marriott.com. Marriott.com's next room types at that hotel are 2 queens suite, king deluxe suite, and 2 queens deluxe suite, but the comparison site's other, more expensive, room types are family suite and standard room! )
The Guest Room is probably considered to be the standard room in this case (if we are talking about the same property).

I have not personally met a situation where the room types are "confusing". Usually it's laid out well when I submit a LNF claim. If you are unsure, you can just submit it anyway. There is no negative outcome by doing so since you are really not sure and worse case scenario you get shot down saying the room types are not the same.

In terms of the bed type, that is taking into consideration if the rates are different. I have been to some properties where it makes no difference for a king or 2 queens. The price remains the same.
