I have one out of MCI. July 2010, I was on my way to CHS via ATL. The MD-88 I was supposed to fly on kept circling the airport because a light saying that the landing gear was fully extended did not come on. The pilots were trying to get the control tower to see if the gear was down or not. After about 10 passes, in which the plane was very low and could be heard from inside the terminal, the plane landed and let out the passengers. The plane was quickly boarded again and we were on our way to ATL. At least, that is what I thought.

We were almost to the runway when the pilot got on the microphone and said we had a problem and that we had to return to the terminal. I thought it was a mechanical problem, but apparently a dead-heading flight attendant had to get off of the plane. I have no idea why. She just quickly hurried out of the plane and was gone. After sitting for a while longer, a passenger in first got very ticked off and said that he was late for a party in ATL and said there was no way in the world he would make it, so he wanted to get off. After sitting even longer, we finally got on the way to ATL. I never saw the police, but it sure was a heck of a delay. I think I was delayed about two hours, which is not the longest and I was not mad, but Delta gave me bonus miles and I did not even ask for them.
