I've been "chatted up" by overly friendly seatmates, and 9 times out of 10 the attention is unwelcome and irritating. My female friends who travel feel the exact same way.
I travel for work. I'm either focused on getting to my destination or getting home. In between, I use the time to read, catch up on TV shows, or turn off my mind. I'm not looking for a date. Being trapped next to someone who can't/won't take a hint is both annoying and creepy.
