I generally think people, but particularly women, don't want to be bothered by being hit on by a seat mate.

Of course, I am married now but back in the day I did have the odd luck here and there..but it was always the woman hitting on me and not the other way around. I leave women on planes alone. Frankly, chatting one up comes off as creepy.

But I did once hook up with a woman on a shuttle bus to the airport, and once with a flight attendant. That's a pretty low average. 20 (but only 8 as a single guy) years of frequent flying, thousands of flights..2 hook ups.
