Speak for yourself. On the 50 crosscountry flight segments I've been on since becoming elite, I've had to sit next to a male on 49 of them. Over half the time, either the person beside me or directly behind me has had a bad cough. If there's one person in F coughing, I'm next to them. The one time I sat next to a female, since was 65 years old. Not exactly my type. There was one other time when I switched out of bulkhead F that if I had kept my seat, I would've sat next to a nice 20s blonde who ended up flirting with the guy who sat next to her the whole flight, exchanging contact info. and the whole nine yards.
