Look, $60- is a pretty good deal.

However, if this flight looks sold out, I think that unselecting your seat is a good gambit with a 50:50 chance of success. You probably have to call to do it.

Can you get an aisle seat right now in E+? If so, I think that your best bet is to buy the desired seat for $60-.
