I'm trying to use miles to go from FAI to WWT (Newtok) and back on Era. The partner desk is indicating I would need to book two separate awards, one for FAI to ANC or BET and another into WWT. After consulting the rate desk, the person I spoke with indicated this was because there were no published fares between FAI and WWT and that award redemptions on Era could only be made between cities with a published 7H fare. I did find pure 7H routings with legal connections and saver space all the way FAI to WWT. Agent also seemed surprised she couldn't issue the ticket.

This seems quite different from all other types of award bookings and is a major limitation, IMO, of Era redemptions. It could take as many as 3 or 4 separate redemptions to connect some Era stations. Still a decent value redemption, but a strange limitation that awards within one carrier network would be limited to the markets joined by publised fares.

I might be able to finagle something for fewer miles if stopovers and OJs are allowed on ERA redemptions but I don't yet know the rules. Agent did confirm that AS and 7H could not be combined in a single redemption.
