I booked Award flights for my family of 4 last year..

They have changed the planes several times.

I have lost my seat assignments... when I try to get seats they keep telling me that there are plenty available, but they are being held for Gate Checkin.

"They will try to seat your family together".. .try doesn't sound encouraging. It's very frustrating that i had seats together and they take them.

Any ideas?

I'm assuming if I can't get seats, I should try to get to the gate early... which is very annoying....
