I have a flight case weighing 13kg. Bike weighs 6.3kg. Track pump, shoes, energy food and all my clothes made up the rest. It was my own fault, but I feel they could have pointed out their weight restrictions on the phone.

On the return the bike case weighed 19.3kg.
6.3kg, wow that's impressive. As I head to my spare room to see how I can shave a few more grams off my bike
13kg for a bike box plus all the other extras, ok I can see where the 30+ kg's easily came from. Maybe it was a slight mistake on your part to pack all your cycling gear in with your bike. I know when I've gone over to France and Spain with my race bike, In my bike box I've just packed my bike, wheels and a few small accessories and that's it. My cycling clothes, shoes ect go in with my regular luggage.
Ive flown with Jet2 several times but never with my bike, now if the only way to book your bike on a Jet2 flight is over the telephone, then it is very poor form from Jet2 not to inform you of the weight limit when making the telephone booking.
