Seat booking, Blue & Bronze, different bookings same flight

Hi

We have a CW wedding anniversary trip for the two of us to SE Asia on BA009 26th Jul, purchased in the sale at a truly fantastic price, Thank you BA

I booked on 2 different tickets/bookings as my wife has the luxury of 4 weeks hols where as work commitments for me only allow 2 weeks, so different return flights/dates.

Mrs is bronze and myself only a blue.
Therefore Mrs can seat select t-7 and my self at t-24hrs. I understand that if we had booked on one booking under my Wifes name we could both seat select at T-7, but due to different return dates I could not do this.

My question is, what is the best method to maximise our chance to sit together on the outbound, Mrs is not a keen flyer and would very much prefer to be next to me when we travel together? I realise there are no guarantees with seat selection, but anything I can do to assist/determine the end result I will do (within reason of £'s).

Do I seat select wife, Bronze at T-7 and pay for my seat Selection £60/£80, or take the chance and wait for seat options at t-24Hrs, or any other options?

Would the seat shifters at BA realize we are travelling together (as its 2 separate bookings, same surname, same payment method) and try and keep us together?

Any thoughts pls? (I have searched already)

(this forum is quite wonderful)
