Very unfortunate situation, however things do go wrong and experienced travellers do not plan important events or meetings hours of a day in advance of travel time when making such connections that far away. As previously mentioned, weather, traffic etc, delays do occur and one must consider these.

Having flown to LIS from YOW a few times in the past twelve months, I am at 50% flying on time because of AC delays of Tap delays and I have never booked my meetings less than 48 hours before my planned arrival.

I always found going down to Belem and having a Pastel de Nata fixes all of my problems. Well maybe not one, several of these heavenly delights do solve many of the world’s problems for me.
