Got a few PM's asking some questions about this TG thing, so i thought I'd post a few thoughts here:

If you do nothing, one of two scenarios plays out

1)The first is that the TG segments don't drop - in which case you're fine to go (There IS a chance of this happening -the bird saw some where it didn't drop despite not being associated properly)

2) The second is that the TG segments DO drop as expected at or around the T-7 mark.
I am not sure how RGN station operates, but in some other stations, if there are economy seats available, they go-show you, and you proceed on your merry way. If actual W inventory is required to go show you, then it could be a problem if the flight has none in that subclass. I suspect however, the former applies, which is good.

If you are Denied then:
I've seen some posts about buying a walk up RGN-BKK and showing the BP as proof the first leg has been used - this MAY or may not work because on KE's system, it will still show the first leg unused, and a check against the ticket number is supposedly mandatory for them to strike it off the list thereby allowing you to check in with KE. If you get an agent who isn't looking, fine. If you do get one who is looking, he or she will see a different ticket number (your walkup vs original ticket)

If you do Something about it in advance then:
The ONLY thing that will guarantee boarding in RGN with any certainty is to get it either revalidated or reissued - which is proving to be nigh on impossible for most of us. The bird has looked and the only ones reissued so far are those that have had a sched change. This of course then also has the added benefit of reassociating the tickets automatically.

For those who haven't had anything out of the ordinary happen to the itinerary - the agents are reluctant to reissue because they see no need to, and they are partly right, because as I have mentioned - there IS a chance those segments won't drop off, and if they do drop, again as i mentioned it may not end up being a major train smash if there are seats available.

From what the bird has seen - so far, no one has been denied in RGN. I put forward the theory that there are some travellers who were even unaware those TG legs dropped, but then were seamlessly made whole again at check-in by the TG check-in agents who did a go-show without the traveller even noticing anything was wrong to begin with. Now this is of course, subject to availability.

In short: Try to push for a reissue, and if you're NOT successful, watch the flight availability across all Y subclasses. If it's not full, you'll probably get on.

I hope this somewhat puts minds at ease (or at least, a little bit more so than before)
