$99 UM fee includes a box of food for the child. Usually they just hand one over to the child, don't usually let them pick one out. They do not need to have credit card.

That said, I always pack snacks for my 10 YO niece.

As it was, she flew home yesterday SFO-ORD in F, as that was all I could get for her on miles and the thing she was most excited about was a "real glass" not a plastic one. Go figure.

Took me over 45 minutes to check her in at the Global Service desk (I was in line at 1K desk) as they had no idea how to check her in. and then the system went down, and then they tried to do it it manually, and then.... you get the idea. Even my niece said "they don't seem to know what they are doing". Out of the mouths of babes!
