Was supposed to fly from BHM-ATL-LAS. Flight ex BHM left at 6:30 with a 1:30 layover it ATL. That flight got cancelled and we have been rebooked on a flight at 4:00 with a 4 hour layover. I haven't accepted the changes yet and I want to see what my options may be before I call in today.

1). Can I ask to be routed on my flight ATL-LAS and have the BHM-ATL leg removed? I live equidistant pretty much between the two cities and if I'm gonna have to endure a 4 hour layover, Id rather just leave directly from ATL.

2). If #1 is not an option, may I ask to be routed on an earlier ATL-LAS flight to make the layover shorter? There is a flight leaving at 730ish that would make the layover much shorter.

3). If neither of those are options, may I ask for flights earlier in the day? The whole point of taking the last flight of the day was so my fiancé could work but if we have to leave 3 hours earlier to take the 4pm flight she will have to take the whole day off and at that point we would rather just get out there as early ad possible Saturday.

Any help is greatly appreciated. Never had to deal with this situation and I'd like to know if I should be pushing an agent for a specific outcome if other people have more insight that it's ok.
