and yes I know AC has limitations artificial and real, but hey UA can do it I guess AC should lobby the government. As far as Aeroplan they should have a better internet booking system.

In the end it's not me who losses it's AC
So let's be fair here. Yes, UA can book UA flights within the States. The same way the AC can book AC flights within Canada. But just like AC can't book UA flights within the States, UA can't book AC flights within Canada! There's nothing strange -- or new! -- here. Go to united.com and search for flights between YOW and YYZ and you'll get a strangely familiar message. Even if it's a multi-city JFK-YYZ // stop // YYZ-YOW. They are not a travel agency per se, they are an airline. If you want to book a mix of carriers go to a travel agency (online or physical).

Believe it or not phones have a place still in 2012. The problem with computers is they are bound 100% by the rules. They don't make exceptions, they don't care, and they just don't have the capability to do everything yet. Actually, they are totally capable, but exposing all that capability to users would confuse the hell out of most of them. In that case a human can step in and help the buyer make sense of an incredibly complicated thing (booking tickets).

Would you send your mom to matrix.itasoftware.com and explain how to use the advanced routing codes?
