As a fairly new Diamond member who spent most of May at the Grand Hyatt in San Francisco, I was surprised during my first stay at HR Reston at the drink prices in the Regency Club. Wine at the GH SFO is $4. I wouldn't expect Reston to be any more expensive than SFO, but wine here is $8.50 for the exact same brand, and not a self pour (if you were inclined to fill it to the brim to make up for the price).

Gave me a whole new appreciation for the SFO GH.

I stayed at the HR New Orleans 2 weeks ago, but didn't go in the evening because of free drinks at the conference I was attending, so I don't know if Reston is the outlier, or SFO.

Also, this is my third trip to NOVA in 2 months, the other two stays at Hyatt Dulles with no club. The breakfast at HR Reston is so pitiful, I think I'll opt for the free Diamond breakfast at the Dulles hotel next time. Dulles has a slightly larger room, although the hotel isn't in as nice a location. This is truly a case where the Regency Club could be a differentiator, but for a hotel that already costs more than Hyatt Dulles to begin with, the club certainly doesn't justify the premium, and I'm not sure what else does. Not a bad hotel, but for a diamond and compared to Hyatt Dulles, not worth the premium price.
