Are you absolutely sure you didn't accidentally check the "Pay by Poli" box? Poly is not supported by Macs, but CC payment is.
CC payments are just a web forms with an SSL certificate to encrypt the content - something that is browser compatibility dependent rather than OS dependent. I can also confirm that we have successfully paid by CC using a Mac.
