Fail Air NZ - can't pay online
I'm really disappointed with the service I got from Air NZ last night. I'd gone through most of the booking process online to get some flights to Melbourne, and was about to pay with internet banking ($6 a leg for credit card seems a rip off to me). But, turns out that their system doesn't support Mac OS. There was a pop up message that said I could call and complete the booking by phone as a Mac user, so gave that a go. The person I spoke to first was unsure if I could do this on a deal flight (AUSSIE150) and then was unable to get the correct fare on the system (apparently, I had to have a bag if I booked over the phone, adding over $80 to the cost of our flights.) She said there was nothing I could do and would have to go and use a PC.
OK, I can understand that sometimes IT systems aren't perfect, and the solution that the Air NZ website suggested (only after going through most of
the booking process) would be perfectly acceptable if I could actually use it. They've either got staff who are poorly trained, or systems that can't support what they promise through the website. Not a good experience.
