IrisT - I was at the Schaumburg FS last week for three nights. (Which is my longest stay in any Marriott property in a very long time! I'm more into one night stands.) Here's what I can tell you...

Reading online, the Ren seems to be the favorite of more people, but I liked the FS. The CL was well run and well stocked. Heck, one night, there was shrimp. Not little shrimpy shrimp, but good sized shrimp. The kind that takes more than two bites!

The CL attendants were terrific, both morning and evening.

I did not go to the pool, but could see it from my window. (The outdoor pool, of course.) It was on the side of the property and appeared to be surrounded by trees. I didn't ever see anyone actually at the pool, but it was typical cement surrounded with a more than ample number of beach chairs. My first day there I was doing Webinars and stared out the window for the six hours I was doing that.

My room was a little larger than what I ordinarily get at a FS, but the bathroom was pretty small and the closet was a third the size of what you would normally expect. Honestly, though, it was big enough and made me wonder why the closets are usually larger.

The internet service was notably fast for a Marriott. I had no trouble watching Hulu over the service. The video didn't slow down once.

The few requests I made were honored. (Feather Free Room, wake-up calls, not to be disturbed by the housekeeper the first day).

I needed to be at the building on the other side of a vacant lot. I walked the first day, but it's in an area that's not pedestrian friendly. Make sure you have a car.
