Just like airlines overbook, hotels do so too to maximize their occupancy. So it's not that uncommon. People cancel, people don't turn up. So they may have "had" a room had you turned up. I take it from reading it, you booked, phoned the hotel, they said we're full, you didn't turn up on that basis and still got billed as a no-show by priceline?
