United is becoming too unreliable an airline to use for international business travel.
As I noted above, fully 1/3 of the F cabin on 940 deplaned last night as they would miss onward connections and thus were going to miss their commitments abroad. That leaves a mark, and people start to fly other airlines (the comments from the three who were GS were not good). I was only on 940 due to an atypical itinerary (and was originally going to take LH via IAH anyway, but UA changed my connection to 39 minutes, Dom-Int'l, UA-LH at IAH, without notifying me - luckily I checked my itin online).
It takes a lot of discounted economy pax to make up for that revenue, even if one assumes half were upgraded from C to F.
