I definitely meant aeroplane, not aircraft. I did however omit an apostrophe when I referred to it as a 'plane.
Semanticly you are correct of course, but it is a favourite saying of RAF flying instructors, along with "3 most useless things in the world, sky above you, runway behind you, nipples on a witch's t*t!"
