OK thanks to all, having thought about this carefully over the weekend, the clincher for me was thus...

We often have a couple of guys requesting a room together, for me it is immaterial whether they are gay, straight, sharing a cheap hooker or simply like to keep each other warm at night.

I cannot see any positive outcome in sending any of them to a hotel plastered with rainbow flags. The straight guys ask us why we presumed they are gay, the gay guys ask us why we a) presumed they are gay and b) presumed they wanted to be in a hotel that looks like it has a gay bent.

Imagine that plastered all over trip advisor

Long and short of it, we want to offer tourism services equally to all parties without giving a crap about their sexual orientation. If any of our hotels were NOT gay friendly we would drop them like a hot potato. It is our business to sell unforgettable Colombia experiences, not to pry into personal beliefs, lifestyles and sensibilities.

Secondly, it is somewhat cynical in my opinion to hang rainbow flags outside ones hotel with a view to attracting the spending power of the gay community when you are in effect no friendlier to gays then any other hotel that we deal with. If you want to hang rainbows outside your hotel then gay up, call yourself a hotel that specifically targets the gay community and we will send clients there that have requested such accommodation.

Thanks once again to all
