Tell her to make friends with her seat mates during the flight. After they have gotten to know each other, she should then ask them the pay phone question. I'll bet the seat mates will let her use their cell phones for a quick call after landing. Problem solved.
Other solution .... Most US airport cell phones take credit cards.
I am an accommodating sort of guy,
RRDD, but there is no way I am going to permit a person of a few hours acquaintance use my cell phone for an overseas call of indeterminate length and cost.
