According to my wife, the crew told her that the pax was not able to sleep a wink in the entire 12 hr flight. It happened just before brunch service. Maybe that was why he was so grouchy.

Very true. He was nowhere near the lavatory. He claimed he was in the queue. Absolute bollocks as I had the clear line of sight to the beckoning cabin crew. He would have been perpendicular to my direction of travel in the galley adjoining path. I, believe in queuing.
He could have managed the situation by having a quiet word with me and I would have 'corrected' his grandiose perception.
