Yes, and your current trip is a single open-jaw (SYD/BNE) with no stopover. Your proposed new itinerary is a single open-jaw (AKL/BNE) and a stopover (SYD).

Call back and ask the agent to add the SYD-AKL segment in to the award and reprice it. If they say the computer won't let them price it then ask them to "please store the segments and have a supervisor or the rates desk manually price it."
I have a similar situation but confused on if it can be ticketed as 1 itinerary?
"My original itinerary looks like SFO-BOM (Destination), BOM-SIN(Stopover), SIN-IAH(Open Jaw), AUS-SFO (last leg). Does it not match with 1 destination + 1 stopover + 1 open jaw?" I have another thread for this if you want to answer there.
