When renting a car from Hotwire or Priceline, the charge must be made to your American Express Card. Since the charge category comes through as Travel-Airline, Amex doesn't recognize that it's a vehicle rental so you must call American Express so they can manually enter the Premium Coverage charge for your rental. They will ask you the amount that was charged for your rental and the date it was charged. After they put the transaction in manually for the Premium Coverage, then you are covered and may decline the extra coverage offered by the rental company when you go to pick up your rental.
