Yes EUClaims and the alikes usually just feature a database with delayed flights and partial reasons for the delay (or clx). Anything not in the database and you are out of luck. Additionally, complex itins, heavy code shares or any shade of grey and they deny your request. In my experience they have pretty much denied everything but the most obvious (the ones that I could report the the FAA alike supervision agency in my country). However, even for that very basic service they charge a lot.

I have tried EUClaims, flighright, and the less known fairplane and profluggast. In summary, it seems like only cases get accepted that have a very, very high chance of going through without any hassle. Those cases can be, in my opinion, easily handled by you without the loss of (in average) 30% of the money you might get back. FT members such as Centipede100 seem to be of assistance with any initial assessment (although he/she is not always easy to understand ).

EDIT: I forgot to highlight that a little more: the local supervision authorities are required to pursue your claim for free. They will notify you about the result but cannot support you with the exercise of your rights (e. g. law suit). The downside is you will have enough time to drink more than your fair share of coffee until you hear back.
