That is a pessimistic view. I'd say if you have 60 minutes to connect from 2E to 2D is fine but ask the staff to jump the lines. Of all the 60 minute connections I had at CDG I can't remember I missed one. if you have 45 minutes it starts getting close but it's cretainly not impossible, if you get 30 minutes it is 50/50. with 20 minutes or less you have most likely a failure to connect unless they decide to wait for you.

Note: 2C and 2D will be abandoned by AF after the extension to terminal 2E opens. This process should start about now...
This will considerably increase your chances to make it because transferring between and within 2E and 2F should be much more efficient. AF and ADP reckon at least a 10 minutes win, but often more.
