Angkor Thom is a 'city' within which you will find Bayon, Baphuon, Phimmeanakas, the Elepant and Leper Terraces as well as Ta Phrom and Banteay Kdei among many other smaller temples. It is not a temple.

In fact thom is used in contemporary cities and has the same meaning as the Thai word thani: city.
