That's exactly what happened to me using a "reputable" courier company - one that is a household name. (For legal reasons, I cannot name the company as it is the subject of a complaint to Consumer Direct.)
If you subsequently pay by a normal method, and then the PayPal payment proceeds, you could end up paying twice and then having the very Devil's own job trying to get one of the payments reimbursed - exactly what happened to me.
............and every phone call to PayPal or British Airways (or the courier firm's customer services) is at a "National Rate" cost.
I have been left feeling that PayPal and Ebay (apparently, they are one and the same company) are nothing but shysters and confidence tricksters.
