The upgrade waitlist is supposed to expire at T-24 and the pax on it transfer (when they check in) to the upgrade standby list. That's how it is supposed to work.

It doesn't always (ever?) work that way but that is how it is supposed to work.

When I buy cheese and it expires I eat the cheese at my own risk post expiration
