You could fly, but my thought proccess is like this. The cheapest flights I see are 164 RT ATL-BQK for mid week flights, They go up to @216 as you approach the weekend. You are likely to want to have a car there to get around, if not you will need to pay for transport to sea island unless that is included with your accomodations. If you are flying into ATL you will probably have a 1-2 hr wait between flights, maybe delays maybe not, a 1 hr flight down there, and the time it takes to get deboarded get bags if checked and get to transportation, and a 15-20 min drive over to Sea Island. This is probably a minimum of 4 hours. I would say the time is still a minimum of 4 hours if you live in ATL and are considering driving to the airport to catch a flight since you have to get through security and leave yourself some wiggle room before the flight. You can Drive down in about 5:30 hrs. If you want a car at all for getting around, it makes more sense to me to drive, as the cost of rentals in the area do not appear to be cheap on first glance, around 300 for a compact on my quick check. So you pay 2(I assume) tickets at $328 and ~$350 (assuming 5 days) for a car after taxes that makes it a $675 trip to save about 3 hours. If you rent a car in atl there is more competition for the same timeframe you could probably grab a car for less than 200, take a leisurely, yet boring drive, that takes at worst an extra 1.5 hours to get there, and at best you may beat the flight, and you have your transportation on hand for less money while saving the cost of flight. I did not figure in gas but that should be no more than $100 for an up and back trip.

Just food for thought.
