From my experience, no and your connection time of only 60 minutes is way to close, especially given the ATC delays out of PEK.

Recently, I flew SHA-PVG and PVG-LAX, two seperate tickets both on CA. Even though both tickets were on CA, the TA was unable to check my bags all the way through. You may have a chance as your TA is based on PEK, but good luck and let us all know.

Also, PEK is notorious for ATC departure delays and 60 minutes can not be enough even if you can check your bags all the way through as it's a large airport. Good luck and keep us all posted. HK is not the worst place in the world to get stuck for a night or so.
