Question regarding Prudhoe Bay operations

Hello all.... I came across something and was hoping the fine people of the Alaska Airlines board could provide some insight....

I managed to come across a copy of the Alaska Airlines 1981 annual report....

One of the things that caught my attention was this comment:

"The most ambitious and significant construction project for our Properties and Facilities Division during the past year was the completion of a new 24,000 square foot facility at Deadhorse Airport to support our daily service to Prudhoe Bay.

Modular units, constructed in Anchorage and trucked to the site, formed a permanent two-story structure for employee housing and dining areas, passenger processing facilities, operations offices, and leasable office space..."

My questions are.... is this facility still in use? The mention of "employee housing and dining areas"... does this mean that Alaska needed to bring employees in from other areas to work in the facility? If so, is that still the case and also, why? Is the population of the area so sparse that local employees could not be found? If they were "temporary" employees... how long was the term on employment there? Is that situation the same today?

Thanks in advance for any information that can be provided.
