The main GB banks don't issue Maestros, but in Northern Ireland they are still alive and kicking, and some minor banks still use them - e.g. Metro Bank, plus the prepaid cards. It's all a bit of a nuisance really, since NL and Germany often have Maestro only payment facilities.
