Completely depends on where you are from and to. EWR-LHR I don't find worth using miles and cash to upgrade, but SFO-FRA might have me considering it. Height, weight, how you sleep on planes, and most importantly your financial situation all should be considered when making the decision.

Oh and almost forgot that even attempting the upgrade does not guarantee it will clear.
