I thought it was a long shot - just wondered if they'd been helpful in the past. In my defence I have let 2 vouchers expire in the past and have spent about £35k since the start of my 2011 statement year already (AMEX are always quite gushing about what a good customer I am when I call them up!)

Oh, and the taxes on my 'free' flight are going to cost North of £3k and again that has to go onto the AMEX card....

I have some time - I might still be able to make this work...
